Non-Licensed Staff

Although they are not licensed funeral directors, these staff members are vitally important to the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Susan DeVoe Susan handles the day to day financial aspects of the business. She is a 1984 graduate of Villanova University with a BA in Nursing. She is a licensed registered nurse. Susan is the wife of Mark DeVoe and the mother of Mark and Maggie DeVoe. She enjoys reading, and spending time at the shore. She is an avid Disney fanatic and a baseball fan.

Zachary DeVoe Email: mrdevoe91@aol.com Zachary is a 2010 graduate of Warren Hills High School, Washington, NJ. He is a student at Warren County Community College. He has shown interest in the family business. If Zachary continues and becomes a Funeral Director he would become the 4th generation of DeVoe's to care for the people of Washington and surrounding areas.

Vincent Smith, Assistant Vince has been with DeVoe's for almost twenty years. His helpfulness and compassion are what stands out when you meet him. He is a retired lineman and foreman for NJ Bell Telephone Company. A former member of the Washington Fire Department for over fifty years and The Washington Emergency Squad. Vince held the record as the youngest man to ever hold the Chief's position in the Firehouse. He resides in Washington, NJ with his wife Fran. He has one son and two daughters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

James Rush, Assistant Jim has been with DeVoe's for over ten years. A very caring and devoted man. You will often see Jim tending the door on night viewings. Jim is a retired civil engineer and a Exempt fireman of the Washington Borough Fire Department. He resides with his wife Kathleen in Washington, NJ. He has one son and one daughter and six grandchildren; including a set of twins.

John Burd, Assistant John has been with DeVoe's for almost 5 years. A very caring and devoted man. You will often see John tending the door on viewings and working funerals. John was born and raised in Washington, NJ. John retired from a 3rd generation family owned business. He resides with his wife Elaine in White Township, NJ. He has six sons and eight grandchildren.
